After I graduated from Spackenkill High, I wanted to work somewhere that I could use my Spanish. Luckily for me, Planned Parenthood hired me as an interpreter. After some time working at PPMHV (Planned Parenthood Mid Hudson Valley), and while studying Anthropology at SUNY New Paltz, I had the opportunity to become an HIV counselor. This put me on a new career path. After graduating from SUNY New Paltz I worked for a little while in New Orleans for the No/AIDS Task Force on the National HIV Behavioral Surveillance and volunteering at a local hospital. When I came home from NOLA (New Orleans, LA) I was fortunate to find work with NYSCASA (The New York State Coalition Against Sexual Assault) as the Outreach Project Director. All these experiences helped make me who I am now and brought me to my current path... who knows where it will take me.
